Past Project Examples

File Conversion

A national company developing an auto financing score model needed to convert a huge archive of human-readable credit reports so that they could be stored and analyzed in a SQL Server database. MERit's knowledge of the text layouts made it possible to map the credit data back into company's database. The data was converted using MERit's processing facilities in a fraction of the time and investment that would have been required in-house.

Legacy System Integration

Costly upgrades were averted by a bank, whose software vendor announced it would discontinue support for integrated credit retrieval in their legacy banking system.  MERit was able to customize an interface so that the MERit Credit Engine could substitute for the obsolete module, thereby allowing the bank's call center to extend the life of its existing decisioning system.

Conserving IT Staff Resources

Three customers of a major financial systems integrator requested a credit report capability. MERit Systems provided custom programming which allowed the integrator to handle its customers' special requests without diverting undue resources to the task. Reinventing the wheel would have been costly. Use of the Merit Credit Engine allowed the staff to maintain focus on its most profitable activities.

Conversion of Bureau Formats

A large automobile financing institution wanted to continue using a system for dynamically generating point scores, but the credit bureau changed the format of the underlying credit reports.  MERit Systems was able to provide a real-time conversion capability from the new credit report format to the old, so that it became unnecessary to rewrite the point scoring system.
